The Last Night Programme for the Windmill Theatre
31st of October 1964

Foreword

From page one of the last night programme at the Windmill Theatre 31st of October 1964

ANY show that has run continuously for over 32 years has done pretty well; when in addition it has presented, amongst others, John Tilley, Kenneth More, Jimmy Edwards, Harry Secombe, Alfred Marks, Michael Bentine, Eric Barker and Pearl Hackney, Arthur English, Arthur Haynes, Dick Emery, Dickie Murdoch and Peter Sellers, one may well ask, was the Windmill Theatre really the home of beauty unadorned or God's gift to the entertainment world.

So no tears for our final curtain - let it come down to-night to end the long day of striving and glory, as it has always come down, to laughter and applause.

Keith Lester, 31st October • 1964
