London Hippodrome - Views from the Upper Gallery

Click to return to Front PageClick to see Ground Plan

From the back of the Upper Gallery, now dark and unused, you can get a good idea of the dimensions of the original auditorium, although there is much ironwork obliterating the view which forms the structure of the false ceiling over the Night Club dance floor.

The ironwork in the foreground is the structure holding up the false ceiling at
Mezzanine level over the present Night Club.

Above - Looking towards the proscenium stage left, from the stage right back of the Upper Gallery. Notice that the auditorium ceiling is now just a roof having lost all of its plasterwork.
