London Hippodrome - Backstage

Click to return to Front PageClick to see Ground Plan

Backstage at the Hippodrome is less sad than FOH as Theatres Backstage are always pretty grim. There is no change here really, there are vast areas of unused space, corridors, offices and dressing rooms, all as they were fifty years ago. Even the Elephant run still exists and parts of the original water tank from when the Theatre was a circus.

Above Right - Corridor under the Stalls and Stage which encircles the original Circus Water Tank

Above - The Elephant run which runs under the Stage Left side of the Theatre

Above - The Stage Door from outside

Above Hippodrome- Stage Door room now unused.
